Chamber System
| The materials arrive from our local plumbing yard. The stack on the truck are High Capacity Infiltrator Chambers. |
I use a forklift attachment on my loader to lift the chambers off in one neat pile! If you don't have this attachment just push the chambers into the loader bucket. You don't want to try and lift this pile by hand. |
| Place the chambers near the site. If you place them too far away you will be doing a lot of walking. Place them too near and you will end up moving every one of them by hand. |

The backhoe is now in position and I am ready to start digging for the septic tank. |
| The tank hole is dug and the spoil pile is placed far enough away so it won't fall back into the hole or ontop of your head! |
Notice the tank hole is dug smooth and flat. You want to make sure you dig the hole at least 2' longer and 2' wider so the tank has a little wiggle room to get in the hole. |
| The septic tank trunk arrives to deliver a 1250 gallon concrete septic tank. |
| The septic tank is installed level in the hole. |
In this photo you can see that I am filling the tank with a garden hose. In our county we are required to do a water tight test on the tank, but this is a good idea anyway.
Septic tanks have been known to float in a nice big rainstorm believe it or not.
Fill the tank with water and then backfill around the edges to make sure your new septic tank doesn't float away! |
| At this point in the job I have installed the distribution box and am starting the second row of chambers. |
This photo shows a nice straight trench but it really doesn't have to be. The Infiltrator Chamber gives you the flexibility to curve your trenches if need be. Just remember to follow your septic plan exactly and don't deviate too much. You don't want to have to dig this all over again or try and have plans modified at the end. |

| The job has been approved and the backfill begins. |
Final backfill is complete and we are ready for a new home to be built! |
